Miss Tracey's Sunday School Class

God has blessed her with a loving church and with good Christian friends.  She has taught Sunday School for 2 years.  Tracey said, “I love teaching because the children are so loving and they are so in-tuned to what they believe.  My goal as a teacher is to let my love for Christ reflect to all I teach.  The fellowship with my children in class is priceless.”

She said, “I feel honored to have been chosen as teacher at Union Hill Baptist Church.”

Tracey is a delight and God blessed us the day He sent her to Union Hill. She loves her own children and the children of the church. She has such a special sweet spirit. We are so honored to have her in our Sunday School teaching 1st through 3rd grade. I know God is blessing her and her love for her Lord and His church
  Miss Kelly
Kelly started assisting with the Sunbeams (now called Mission Friends) when she was 17 years old. She started in the youth department in her early 20’s and stayed for 10 years. During that time, she taught JR High then became the Youth Director. She has planned many social events, weekend camping trips, etc.
Kelly has taught Mission Friends for as long as she can remember (maybe over 20 years). And then there is Vacation Bible School where she taught 1st – 2nd – 3rd grade class for several years and now has been the Director of Vacation Bible School for  several years.
Union Hill is so blessed to have Kelly as a very dedicated teacher. We know God is blessing her for being so faithful to His work. I know her mother, Mrs. Mary Ella and Mr. Bob are so proud of their daughter. Thank you, Kelly. We and all the children you have touched with your life appreciate you so much and love you.

Ron and Amanda lead our Youth SS Class. Seen here with Jenny, Department Director and the class. Amanda is the SS teacher and Ron is her support and helper.
I have been a member of UHBC for most of my life having been baptized at 7 years of age. I married Ron in 1995. In 1998, along came our son and we moved back to the ‘hill’. Other churches we attended were larger and “had more to do”, but never felt right, so we came back to visit and immediately knew we were ‘home’. Who said small churches don’t have enough to do? Obviously, they’ve never visited here!
Amanda and Ron and Trey are such a blessing to our church. They are involved with so much more than being teachers. Thank you for giving back to Lord so generously.
Tell others about the love we share for one another and for the Lord at Union Hill.

Adult Sunday School Classes

Leslie and Michelle, Emmy, Evan and Ella

Leslie became a Christian when he was 4 years old and baptized when he was 10 at Union Hill. He rededicated his life to the Lord in 1999.

He is a 4th generation deacon at Union Hill. He is a wonderful teacher of Adult I and II. Leslie has been teaching for about 5 years. He began as a once a month teacher since the regular teacher was a nurse and was out one Sunday a month. Then he started teaching on a regular basis. He likes teaching God’s Word and watching as the members of his class begin to discuss the lesson and get excited about studying at home. Teaching has helped him come closer to the Lord and helped him learn more about the Bible. He is encouraged by his members.

He plans to continue teaching as long as the Lord needs him. His favorite Bible verse is, Philippians 4:13 - “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me”.

Leslie and his family are a blessing to our church. It warms our hearts to see him minister to his class members. Sometimes they have a full room, which means lots of people are getting the Word of God. His class is so helpful with all kinds of projects for others. He also sings in the choir and does our announcements on Sunday morning. He and Bro. Mike visit and enjoy inviting others to church.

As you can see, God is using Leslie in our church in a powerful way. We pray God’s blessings on you, Leslie, and your family.

Dorothy Cummings is one of our wonderful adult teachers. She teaches the Adult III Ladies.
Mrs. Dot (as we lovingly call her) grew up in the Union Hill area. She has been attending Union Hill since she was about 6 years old.
Mrs. Dot began teaching about 60 years ago and has been a teacher in Sunday School ever since. We are so glad she stayed with her love for God’s Word and to teach it to others.
God has blessed our church over the years with so many Godly teachers who wanted others to know about Christ and His love for us.
Thank you, Mrs. Dot, for loving us enough to put in the time to study and to teach us how the Lord wants us to live. We love you so much and are so honored to be a part of your Sunday School class. We believe God has many years left for you to share His love through His Word with others.

Mr. Bob is so loved by all of the church.

1. He was out of the Air Corps in 1945
2. Came back to church in 1946
3. In September, 1946, he was asked to teach and he said, “Who me?” Bro. Robinson said, “Yeah! You!”
4. First Class was in October 1946. They were the Intermediate Boys, 12 years old. He taught these boys 5 years or more and said he learned more than they did.
5. He taught a mixed class of young adults for about 3 years.
6. Taught a class on the Book of Revelation, verse by verse. This went on for 2 years. Again he learned more than they did.
7. Mr. Earl Hitt, Teacher of the Adult Class for years, went home to be with the Lord and I replaced him as the adult teacher. He’s been here ever since.
8. He has been a teacher from October, 1946 - February, 2007 (and we pray for many, many more!)
9. He also teaches the little children and all who hear him on Sunday morning. The bigger children love his stories also.

Mr. Bob’s goal was never to teach anything, just wanted to make people think , and act for themselves.

Mr. Bob is such an inspiration to all who listen to his wise information. He is truly a gift from God to our church. Thank you for sharing your stories and your love of the Lord with us. Mr. Bob’s wife, Mrs. Mary Ella is always by his side and is an inspiration to him and all of us. She is the secretary for the class. Thanks to both of you for ‘giving to the Lord’.

Mrs. Helen turned 92 a few months ago. She was born in 1916. She has been a member of Union Hill Baptist Church for more than 71 years. She also has been teaching Sunday School for 52 years. She is still teaching and her class members love her so much. Her Sunday School Class has more 100% attendance than most classes in our church. You are so special.

Her hobbies are sewing and gardening, traveling and sharing her love for Jesus with others. She still hauls mulch and puts it down in her garden, which is so beautiful with lots of flowers. She has made 14 quilts this year and has made a quilt for everyone of her children and grandchildren. She sews everyday and usually has a piece of thread somewhere on her or in her purse when she comes to church. She says when she is sewing she is happy!

We love Mrs. Lee and know that God is not finished with her yet. She still has many years to teach God’s Word.

Thank you Mrs. Helen for your love for our church.  Show your love for Mrs. Helen this month as we honor her for being one of our faithful Sunday School teachers.  We have the best. Tell others about the love we share for one another
and for the Lord at Union Hill.
